Welcome to Brighton BothWays

We are a group for Bisexual people, anyone who wonders if they might be bi and the partners, family friends and other allies of bi people. We’re based in Brighton and have members from a wide surrounding area. Bi and bi-friendly visitors to Brighton are also welcome to drop in on our events.

People come to the group for different reasons – some people are just beginning to question their sexuality and want support as they explore whether they are bi. Some people have just moved to the area and want to make connections. Other members may have happily been out as Bi (or an ally) for years and just want to socialise with other Bis and allies and be involved in activism.

Our membership is very diverse with people from a wide range of backgrounds, age-groups (membership is for over 18’s only but some of our events are family friendly so Bi parents can bring their children along), Gender Identities, relationship styles, ethnicities, beliefs and dis/abilities. We aim to make our events as accessible as possible – please get in touch if you have any specific access needs.  We ask people to respect each other to create a safe and supportive space, to keep what is discussed at our events confidential and not to out anyone without their permission.

We’re a social and support group and not a dating service! Occasionally relationships do blossom between group members but that’s a pleasant side effect and not what we are here for.

The group has been running since 2003 in various formats. Currently we have 2 regular monthly meet-ups – the Coffee & Chat and Talky Space – with some one-off events throughout the year.

If you have an idea for or are interested in running a one-off event please discuss it at an event, on the email list or our FaceBook group.

BothWays is run by volunteers and everyone is very welcome to get involved – you can do as much or as little as you want/feel able to. There’s a fairly lose structure with two co-chairs, a committee (including a treasure, secretary and the facilitators of the monthly meet-ups) which and the AGM where all members can be involved in making decisions about the group and our activities.
